Has remote working had a negative impact on conflict management?

Conflict at work can be a result of personality clashes, workplace stress, unfairness or inequality, inappropriate behaviours, management styles, and overworking to name a few. Conflict management has always been important in leadership training, however, there is a new skew to the narrative.

One of the key conversations around conflict management is the impact lone working and working from home has on work-based conflict and its management.  Online communication either over zoom or email lacks social cues which are forms of communication that allow people to read each other and react appropriately. Social cues include body language, tone of voice and expressions.

Do you think workplace conflict is reduced or intensified due to the new work from home and lone working models?

beami have introduced a 3.5-hour masterclass, designed for anyone who works with individuals who may be working to different agendas. By attending this development, attendees will be able to influence others ethically, understand the best way to work with different behaviours during collaboration and how to align goals when at first they seem to be going in different directions!
